Step 1: Go from feelings, not photos. Ask not 'where to go?' but 'what do I want to feel there?' Want megacity energy → capitals with a frantic pace, neon, night markets and skyscrapers. Want to immerse in antiquity → places where history is underfoot, not in a museum: ancient cities, cliff monasteries, abandoned fortresses. Want gastronomic delight → regions with strong street food, unique produce and a tradition of long feasts.

Step 2: Use a 'beacon system.' Chosen a feeling? Now look for beacons — concrete things that deliver it. Open any flight search engine, enter your departure city, choose 'Everywhere' or 'low-price map' in the destination field, set your dates or month, and see where planes fly. Spotted an unfamiliar name? Google it + 'what to see.' Often the best ideas come from ticket availability, not brochures.

Step 5: Assemble the route like building blocks. Found a country? Don't try to do it all. The 'three points' rule: pick one base (a major city), add one nature trip (mountains, sea, a reserve), and add one small village or historic town a couple of hours away. That's enough for a first trip to feel the country without exhausting yourself on transfers. Example for Armenia: base — Yerevan (culture, food, life); nature — Lake Sevan or the mountains of Dilijan; town — Garni or Echmiadzin.

Step 6: Check the 'visa weather' and logistics. Got an idea? Now a quick reality check. Visas: open the consulate site — visa-free / visa on arrival / e-visa; if it's hard, shelve the idea, there are plenty of options. Logistics: how do you move around inside — car rental (check your licence!), trains, domestic flights; is there a convenient link between your 'three points'? Season: don't land in the rainy season or brutal heat — Google '[country] + best month to visit.'
